BIZyCart Ecommerce Server 17.2 is downloadable from http://www.bizycart.com as a self-extracting executable file. Contact sales@bizycart.com for download instructions. |
| Installation Procedure for the BIZyCart Ecommerce Server |
The BIZyCart Ecommerce Server is easy to install from the self-extracting file. As you go through the installation, be sure to read the information and instructions that appear on the Installation screens. Follow these instructions to install the BIZyCart Ecommerce Server:
- Unzip the BIZyCart-Install.zip file in a temporary folder of your choice.
- Execute the Setup.exe to install BIZyCart's executable files in the C:/Program Files/BIZyCart folder.
- That folder should contain:
- BIZyCart.dll
- BIZyCart-Client.csv (For allowing sites to use BIZyCart).
- /Logs/Error.log (For recording system level errors.)
- The installation will add MEASP.dll to the WINDOWS/System32 folder along with other dependency files.
- No additional permissions are required other than to set write permission for Users (NS/Users) for the /BIZyCart/Logs folder.
Note: The BIZyCart.asp installed for the web sites is only a small launch script and BIZyCart.dll provides all of the executable code. |
| Updating the BIZyCart-Clients file |
|
The BIZyCart-Clients.csv file is the master list of web sites with permission to use the BIZyCart Ecommerce Server. A starter copy is installed during the initial installation. This file may be edited with Notepad or Excel. Missing or extra commas can break things so you must be careful. |
| Licensing Requirements |
Following the column titles line, the LicenseChecks line must contain the following columns:
- "Path to client's home directory" - The IP number for your server.
- "TermID" - The name assigned to your server.
- "Login" - The User Name assigned to your license agreement.
- "Password" - The Password assigned to your license agreement.
Note: The above must be correct or all usage of BIZyCart will open the BIZyCart Links page. |
| SecureFolders |
|
Following the column titles line, the SecureFolders line tells BIZyCart where the secure information is to be located in the web site structure. The default is "\DataBases".
It is strongly recommended that this folder be outside the normal web access area and best if it is parallel to it. For security, it must be accessible only via password protected FTP.
Under this folder you will need an /Orders, /Pending, and /Tokens folders. The default initial files for the /Orders folder is provided in a separate file. |
| RedirectPages |
|
The RedirectPages line contains the web site URL where browsers are redirected if the web site URL does not identify a configured web site in the CLIENT='s parameter. Attempting to bookmark a page generated using a Form (like during the Check Out process) will create this type of problem.
"http://BIZyCart.com/Tour-Links.htm" appears in the installation file and you may change it to the web site of your choice. The links page may for formatted to suit your style and have any name. |
| Central Site |
|
The first web site defined must have a Client name of "Central". This optional web site provides a centralized (common) copy of the data bases used to generate state and country pulldowns and a master links data base and associated images. This is also the site usually used for https for those sites not installing their own SSL Security Certificate.
"C:\Inetpub\vhosts\bizycart.com\httpdocs" appears in the installation file and it may be changed to the location of the web site you'd like to use.
The Central Site is not required if all web sites have their own SSL certificate installed and their /Orders folder includes the DataState.csv and DataCntry.csv data bases. |
| Ending Line |
The last line of the file must remain exactly as it is with the pair of END entries. |
| Adding a New BIZyCart Site |
|
A "NewSite" line is included in the BIZyCart-Client-csv file you may copy and paste to start the configuration for a new web site.
The changes may be made using Notepad, another ASCII type editor, or Excel. Set Notepad to use "Courier New" for the best spacing and column alignment. |
| Client |
|
Change the "Client" column to the friendly name you are assigning to the web site. It's a good idea if this matches the users administrative login. |
| Path to client's home directory |
|
Change the "Path" column to match the physical location of the web site's HTML files on your server. It must be the full path. |
| Processor |
|
The "Processor" column needs to change only if the site is being configured for gateway transactions. "Nova", "AuthNet", and "WellsFargo" are valid entries.
The "Real Time:" parameter in BIZyCart's configuration must be set to "Yes" if purchases on the web site are to be processed automatically. Otherwise, only the terminal buttons in the Client Management are active. |
| MerchantNr |
|
The "MerchantNr" column needs to change only if the site is being configured for real-time gateway transactions. This would be the Merchant or Account number assigned by the gateway system. |
| TermID |
|
The "TermID" column needs to change only if the site is being configured for real-time gateway transactions. This would be the TID generated by the gateway system. It is strongly recommended to go through the steps to generate the secure random password for this and it should be very carefully protected. |
| CCPass |
|
The "CCPass" column needs to change only if the site is being configured for real-time gateway transactions. This would be the
login password assigned to the Merchant Card Account. This may be used instead of the TermID but is frowned on by Authorize Net. |
| Login |
|
The "Login" column sets the log on for the BIZyCart Management Interface pages. This can be the same as the Client column. |
| Password |
|
The "Password" column sets the log on password for the BIZyCart Management Interface pages. This can be the same as the site's admin password for simplicity. |
| IPNumber |
|
The "IPNumber" column may be used to restrict access to the BIZyCart Management Interface pages to a specific IP number. Leave the column empty if not required. |
| Installing the Base/Central BIZyCart Site |
|
After installing the BIZyCart.dll, add the web site to your server to be used for site demonstrations, a default link page, and centralized data bases. This is optional if all the web sites can stand on their own but a centralized links page is a good idea.
A BIZyCart-Templates.zip file is available to install a replica of the BIZyCart
Ready-To-Run site. You may then customize it to suit your marketing needs. |
| Centralized Files |
In addition to using a base site defined as the "Central" client for https, BIZyCart uses several centralized data bases to generate pulldowns. The following need to appear in its /Orders folder in addition to the standard data bases.
- DataCntry.csv (For Country lookup)
- DataState.csv (For State lookup)
- DataHoliday07.csv (For establishing holidays when shipping is not available)
- LinksBase.csv (If adding link pages to sites on the server using the UPDATE button on the BIZyCart-Admin.htm page)
- /Links folder for the site banner images.
You may use any domain name for your demonstration site. Registering a *.biz to match your primary domain is good solution. |
| Central Site Permissions |
|
The central site's /Orders and /Orders/Links folders must have permissions set to allow all sites access to the contents. They should never have write or modify permissions except within their own web site. |
